Recorder’s office warns residents of scam attempts

The Carbon County Recorder of Deeds office would like to alert the public regarding notices they may have received in the mail from Home Warranty Solutions.

This solicitation takes advantage of homeowners by proposing to provide property records for a fee of $199. These same records can typically be purchased for less than $5 at the recorder of deeds office.

This new attempt to scam local residents comes with a “Registration Fee Voucher” that resembles a check.

Residents may also receive offers from similar companies like National Deed Service, Record Retrieval Department, Property Transfer Services, Record Transfer Services and Conveyance Transfer Services, Local Records Office.

The recorder’s office recommends residents disregard these services, which, it says, may look official, but they are not. Residents with questions can call the recorder’s office for additional information or answers about property records at 570-325-2651.
