Palmerton Car Show set for Saturday
Dads are known to have an affinity for hot rods.
There will be plenty of automobiles for dads to set their sights on at the Palmerton Car Show.
Hosted by the Pace-Makers Association, the event will be held rain or shine on Saturday. Registration is at 9 a.m., and the event goes until 3 p.m.
Dale Steigerwalt, public relations, said dash plaques will be handed out to the first 300 cars to go through registration.

Steigerwalt noted that all the judges are members of the community, and have little to no experience in judging vehicles.
“It’s a fun day; we try to make it different from all the other car shows,” Steigerwalt said. “We’re hoping that we start to see a lot more people come back out in the community and take part and have a good time.”
Steigerwalt noted that proceeds from the event benefit area recreation.
“The idea of the event is to raise money for organizations such as the booster clubs in town,” he said. “All the proceeds benefit local youth recreation and sports associations.”
Steigerwalt said that DJ Imbody Media Production will be on hand for the event, and added there will be food from Dale’s Concessions, along with a chance auction (40-50 prizes), 50/50s, and a large item raffle (featuring a 50-inch TV, $100 Visa gift card, and $100 in lottery tickets).
“All the money raised goes back to these youth organizations to purchase things such as equipment, things for safety,” he said. “I encourage groups that are struggling and looking to get some equipment re-certified, or some new equipment, let us know; we can certainly help them do that.”
