State police at Hazleton

State police at Hazleton released information on the following cases:

• A Carbon County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred on June 9 at 10:52 a.m. in Hazle Township, Luzerne County.

State police at Hazleton said troopers were monitoring traffic on Stockton Road, near the intersection with Route 940, when they observed the driver of a 2002 Ford Focus commit a traffic violation. Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver fled and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended in Hazleton with the driver being taken into custody.

He was identified as Paul Moon, 34, of Weatherly. Troopers said the investigation is continuing and indicated that Moon is facing drug charges and related offenses.

• On June 9 at 11:50 p.m. troopers responded to West Market and Fern streets in Banks Township, Carbon County, for a report of criminal mischief. A 23-year-old woman from Berwick reported that Brooke Erbe, 25, of Tresckow, threw an unknown item at the victim’s 2016 Honda Civic leaving a 1-inch dent on the driver’s side. Erbe left the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. Troopers added that multiple witnesses observed Erbe to be the person involved.

Erbe was cited for criminal mischief.
