Northern Valley cruised to a victory over Southern Lehigh in legion action over the weekend.

Northern Valley-So. Lehigh

Cole Hausman and Andrew Diehl both did damage at the plate, while Wesley George dominated on the mound to lead Northern Valley to a 9-1 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Southern Lehigh on Saturday.

Hausman collected two hits, one a double, and knocked in three runs for the Chargers, who improved to 3-2. Diehl also finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs.

George pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed just five hits and a run. He walked one and struck out 12. George also helped his own cause with a run-scoring single.

Northern Valley also received two runs and an RBI from Sam Mauro, with Nickolas Schweitzer adding a double, a run and an RBI.

SCHUYLKILL-BERKS LEGION

Wyomissing-Tamaqua

Wyomissing swept Tamaqua in a Schuylkill-Berks league doubleheader on Saturday.

The Blue Sox dropped a 14-6 decision in the first game before falling by a 13-3 score in the second.

Harry Weiss had four hits in the opener to lead a 19-hit attack for the Warriors. Weiss also knocked in two runs and scored twice. The winners also received three hits from Jimmy Nunez and RayJay Marmolejos.

Tamaqua received three hits - one a double - from Cian McLaughlin, who also scored three runs. Ryan Vecolitis added a pair of hits and three RBIs.

In the second contest, Darren Brunner collected three hits and knocked in four runs to pace the Warriors. Lucas Krammer also contributed two hits, one a triple, and four RBIs.

The Blue Sox managed only two hits in Game 2, one an RBI single off the bat of Logan Morgans.
