Four area players were selected to be part of the Lehigh Valley team for the 2022 Carpenter Cup Softball Classic.

Northwestern’s Sage Toman and Marissa Christman were both named to the team as were Jordyn Hemingway of Northern Lehigh and Carly Gaffney of Palmerton.

The Carpenter Cup Classic is a 16-team tournament with four pools of four teams each. Lehigh Valley is in Pool A and will face the other teams in its pool (Delaware County, Chester County and SOL) in round robin play on Monday, June 20 at FDR Park in Philadelphia.

The top two teams in each pool will advance to a single-elimination knockout round on Wednesday, June 22 at FDR Park. Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will all be played at that time.
