Local roundup: Results from June 4 & 5

The Berlinsville Braves won their third-straight game in Blue Mountain League on Sunday, while Palmerton posted an impressive win in Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack action.

BLUE MTN. LEAGUE

Berlinsville used a hot start to roll to a 12-1 win over Easton in Blue Mountain League play Sunday.

The Braves (4-3) scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning to blow the game open, capped by a three-run homer from Jack Chapman. Austin Strunk added a solo blast in the fourth inning, while Austin Mueller (three RBIs, stolen base) and Zach Day (RBI, walk) both finished with two hits and a run scored. Noah Snisky finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, three runs scored, a walk and a stolen base.

Nick Payne was 2-for-3 for the Falcons (6-2).

Palmerton turned back North Parkland for a 12-9 win in Lehigh Valley senior Connie Mack action Sunday.

Nate Steinmetz was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs scored for the Bombers, who scored 11 runs over the second and third innings. Dalton Rumfield added a double, scored twice and knocked in three runs. Mason Becker also had a hit, two RBIs and a run scored.

Cody Collaruso was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for North Parkland, which pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Franklin Township posted a 5-3 win over Palmerton In Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack play Saturday.

John Light was 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI for Franklin. Derek Behler added two singles with a run scored and an RBI.

Derek King (run scored) and Trey Sterling (two RBIs) both had a single and a double for Palmerton.

Tamaqua-Muhlenberg

Muhlenberg swept a doubleheader against Tamaqua in Schuylkill-Berks Legion action on Saturday.

The A’s won the first game 8-1.

Chris Avram was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Muhlenberg.

Stephen Modesto was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double for the Blue Sox. Timmy Fritzinger added three hits.

Muhlenberg capped the sweep with a 14-2 win in the second game.

Anthony Cipolla was 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored for the A’s. John Canceliere (RBI, run scored) and Julian Hatt (RBI, run scored) also doubled. Caleb Keller struck out 10 and allowed three hits in seven innings of work on the mound for the A’s.

Stephen Modesto doubled and scored a run for the Blue Sox. Ryan Vecolitis had a hit and an RBI. Blaise Gigli also added a hit.
