More than 60 Wilkes University students were recognized for their achievements during the 2022 Academic Awards Ceremony. The event was held on May 20, the evening before spring commencement.

Local students include:

• Lindsey Bowman of Lehighton received the Frank J. J. Davies Award - Literature concentration, and graduated the next day with a bachelor’s degree in English, with minors in communication studies and women’s and gender studies.

• Sarah Markovich of Lansford received the Honors Program Community Leadership Award, and graduated the next day with a doctoral degree in pharmacy (PharmD) with a concentration in public health.

• Matthew Widdicombe of Albrightsville received the American Chemical Society Section Award, and graduated the next day with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.
