State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported investigating the following crashes:

• A two-vehicle crash happened at 5:27 p.m. on May 20 at the intersection of routes 93 and 209 in Nesquehoning, Carbon County.

Troopers said Brady L. Walters, 18, of Weatherly, lost control of his 2000 Pontiac Firebird while negotiating a right curve on 93 and entered the intersection with 209 where his vehicle struck the rear passenger side of a 2010 Ford Focus driven by Terri L. Rock, 63, of Jim Thorpe.

No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed.

Troopers cited Walters for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• Police reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 10:37 p.m. on May 20 along Route 93 in Nesquehoning.

Troopers said Jeremiah L. Ortiz, 19, of Lansford, was driving a 2006 Mazda 3 southbound when he lost control of the vehicle.

The Mazda struck an embankment along the berm on east side and came to final rest on the west side of the road.

Ortiz suffered minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention. The vehicle had to be towed.

Oritz was cited for the crash.
