Palmerton concert lineup
The Bandstand Committee of the Concourse Club announces the launch of their 33rd annual Sunday night Summer Concert Series. The concerts take place at the Palmerton Borough Park each Sunday night from June 5 through Aug. 21. At no cost to the public, the concerts are open for all to enjoy.
The committee is happy to announce that this year’s schedule, the first full slate of concerts since the onset of the pandemic, includes a wide variety of music that will appeal to everyone.
“We are really excited about the variety of bands, which includes some returning favorites, as well as some new unique additions to the lineup,” says newly installed Concourse Club President Judy Borger. “We would like to thank those businesses and community members who have so generously supported our events over the years.”
A special recognition is planned prior to the start of the first concert, in memory of Harry Brown, a longtime supporter of the Summer Concert Series. Additionally, appreciation is extended to the Smelas family, who have sponsored two bands in memory of Bill Smelas, namely The Ringgold Band (July 17) and The Allentown Band (July 24).
Concerts in June and July run from 7-8:30 p.m., while concerts in August run from 6:30-8 p.m. For the safety of all, the committee reserves the right to cancel any concert due to inclement weather. Cancellations will be posted on the Concourse Club Facebook page. For additional information, please call 610-826-7279.
