South Carbon seniors hold on to lead

It’s week two of the 2022 Carbon County Senior Games and South Carbon County seniors continue a commanding the lead.

After five days of competition, Lehighton and Palmerton have a combined score of 509.

But North Carbon County seniors, made up of Jim Thorpe, Panther Valley and Weatherly, are hanging in there with a combined score of 272.

Monday’s events included bowling.

• 60 to 64: Jodi Schweizer of Lehighton, gold; and Louise Getz of Jim Thorpe, silver.

• 65 to 69: Judy Remmel of Lehighton, gold; Debra Reed of Lehighton, silver; and Sue Wagner of Palmerton, bronze.

• 70 to 74: Karen Klotz of Lehighton, gold; Sandy Fritz of Lehighton, silver; and Judy Hartman of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• 75 to 79: Sofia Mathews of Panther Valley, gold; Linda Bottcher of Lehighton, silver; and Joyce Springer of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• 80 to 84: Jane Nicolai of Lehighton, gold; Marie Haberman of Lehighton, silver; and Yvonne Nailor of Lehighton, bronze.

• 85 to 89: Helen Smith of Lehighton, gold; Dorothy Contrady of Weatherly, silver; and Wanda McNichol of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• 90 and up: Charlotte Koenig of Palmerton, gold; and Dorothy Blose of Palmerton, silver.
