Planning commission reorganizes, makes recommendations

The Carbon County Planning Commission held a reorganization during Tuesday’s meeting after longtime member and board secretary Frank Jacobs passed away earlier this month.

The officers for the commission include Fred Bresswein, chairman; George Karas, vice chairman; and Dennis Demara, secretary.

Following the reorganization, the commission then made recommendations on several subdivision and lot line revision plans in the county.

• William E. and Flora M. Swinesburg and Mary Lou Swinesburg received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 3903 and 3965 Quakake Road, Packer Township. The plans called for creating three lots out of a 12.218-acre lot.

• Gerry R. Mitchell received conditional plan approval for a proposed subdivision at 305 Unionville Road, Penn Forest Township. The plans call for creating two lots from a 15.70-acre lot.

• Vasilios Yialamas received conditional plan approval for a proposed lot line revision at 77 Lucretius Trail, Towamensing Trails, Penn Forest Township. The plan calls for combining two lots into one.

• Larry Eckhart received conditional plan rejection for a proposed subdivision at 4150 Hahn’s Dairy Road, Lower Towamensing Township. The plans call for creating four lots out of a 45.8804-acre lot and then creating a new lot out of additional acreage.

• George Thorton Jr. and Regina Mackiewicz (M&T Revocable Trust), received conditional plan approval for a proposed minor subdivision/lot line revision at 3 Polansky Lane, Kidder Township. The plan calls for combining lots to create larger lots.

• Pitreal Corporation (Pagnotti Enterprises Inc.), owner; and Michael D. Mizenko, developer, received plan approval for a proposed subdivision on an unnamed alley at the intersection of Pine Street and North Buttonwood Street, Village of Tresckow, Banks Township. The plans call for subdividing 417.692 acres into three lots.

The recommendations now go to the respective municipalities for final approval.
