Franklin nets nearly $20K through sale of old equipment on Municibid

The sale of old equipment has fetched Franklin Township close to $20,000.

Supervisors on Tuesday agreed to accept the bids for the equipment in the amount of $19,339.

Township secretary Brenda Cressley broke it down by department: The road department got $9,862; garbage department $6,300; police department $1,742; and fire department $1,435.

In March, supervisors agreed to advertise the equipment for sale on Municibid, with the money received to be allocated to the departments that it came from.

Board Chairman Fred Kemmerer explained at that time that it took time to round up and inventory all the equipment, which has been stored behind the township building.

Kemmerer specifically thanked supervisors Jason Frey and Robin Cressley for their time and efforts to see it through.
