Blue Mountain to add high-speed. six-person chairlift

Blue Mountain Resort, home to Pennsylvania’s highest vertical at 1,082 feet in the Pocono Mountains, announces a new high-speed six-person lift coming to the mountain for the 2022-2023 winter season.

The new lift will replace two double lifts and greatly improve the ski experience for winter sports fans taking local and destination ski getaway trips to Blue Mountain.

The new lift – yet to be named – will rise 980 feet and finish where the prior two double lifts ended. The lift will improve connectivity between the Valley Lodge and the Summit Lodge and dramatically improve access to the terrain on the western part of the mountain.

This speedier and larger lift will transport riders from bottom to top in under five minutes and accommodate 3,000 guests per hour.

The new lift comes on the heels of last year’s new 40th trail, Free Fall, and the expansion of its snowtubing park from 24 to 46 lanes.

As the mountain prepares for the new lift installation later this year, the resort will sell 247 of its old lift chairs to the general public for $1,200 each. The sale began Monday.
