Scheller leads in the 7th congressional district

Republican Lisa Scheller is leading the contest for the Republican nomination for the 7th Congressional District. She has 18,401 votes to Kevin Dellicker’s 16,804 votes.

The winner will face incumbent Democrat Susan Wild in November’s general election for the newly realigned 7th Congressional District seat. Wild was unopposed in the primary.

The 7th Congressional District includes Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties, and Eldred, Polk and part of Ross townships in Monroe County.

This is Scheller’s second run against Wild and Dellicker’s first bid.

Dellicker edged Scheller in Carbon County, with 3,947 votes to Scheller’s 3,566 votes.

Scheller is the chairman of Silberline Manufacturing, which is a third-generation, family-owned business located in Tamaqua, and a former county commissioner in Lehigh County. Scheller is also the founder of Hope & Coffee in Tamaqua.
