The 2022 primary election in Monroe County will allow its Democratic and Republican voters the opportunity to elect party representatives on the state and county levels.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18.

In Monroe, three people will be elected to both the Pennsylvania State Democratic Committee and the Pennsylvania State Republican Committee, including one male, one female and one of either gender.

The Democratic candidates are Claudette Williams, Mount Pocono; Anne Tiracchia, Stroudsburg; Tim Sanders, East Stroudsburg; Cynthia Crowner, Stroud Township; and Jacob A. Pride, Smithfield Township.

The Republican candidates are Thomas C. Whitehead, Tunkhannock Township; Shelli Bird, Ross Township; and Josephine Ferro, Middle Smithfield Township.

Monroe County Democrats will also elect one committeeman and one committeewoman in each of the districts in the county.
