Credit defaults
The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts
LVNV Funding, Canonsburg, filed an action against Tracy Stahler, 540 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, seeking $808.05.
Loan defaults
Geisinger Clinic, 819 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, filed an action against Ryan Rambaran, D.O., of 270 Walden Lane, Weatherly, alleging he defaulted on a loan agreement with the plaintiff. Sought is $27,972.21 plus interest, costs and fees.
Ford Motor Credit Company, c/o 1060 Andrew Drive, West Chester, filed an action against Christopher D. and Stephanie Larry, 13 E. Fell St., Summit Hill, alleging they defaulted on automobile loan. Sought is $1,133.75.
Prothonotary report
Prothonotary Kayla M. Semmel released the statistical report of activities for her office for the month of March.
There were 289 cases started in March with the following breakdown: civil actions, 17; custody, 15; DJ appeal, 8; divorce, 14; em domDec/tak, 1; license appeal, 5; mortgage foreclosures, 7; partition, 1; protection from abuse, 21; judgments, 171; Stip/waiv liens, 2; PSFV. 2; custody modifications, 13; Aud/Fin/Reports, 1; and writs, 11.
A total of 59 passport applications were processed in March. In addition, a total of 27 renewal applicants sought assistance from the office; and 51 photos were taken. Passports are by appointment and pictures can now be taken in the office.
Total income generated was $25,112.32; prothonotary fees, $21,572.55; custody/divorce fees, $418.75; data processing fees, $2,632.70; interest income, $3.32; PFA; PFA surcharge courts, $75; PFA surcharge sheriff,$75; and stenographer fess, $335.
In addition to the above fees, the office remitted to the county for the remote access fund for remote access fees of $1,500, remitted to the state department of revenue (fees collected on new cases) $3,427.10; and automation fund $595 - money collected for future automation and improvements to the office. Sales tax money turned over to the state for tax on passport photos, $43.35.
