The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• Approve the submission of a grant application for the 2022 Federal Emergency Management Performance Grant, requesting $64,297, which supports salaries and benefits of the emergency management coordinator and administrative assistant.
• Approve the 2022-2023 Hazardous Materials Response Fund budget for the grant performance period of July 1 through June 30, 2023, in the amount of $8,048.
Personnel
• Resignation: Stephen T. Gober of Whitehall, county caseworker II, Children and Youth Services, effective May 6.
• Hire as recommended by department supervisor: Megan L. Veen of Tamaqua, part-time dispatcher, communications center, effective May 13.
Acknowledgments
• Court appointments: Brady M. Horbaker of Bethlehem, probation officer I, adult probation, effective May 9; and Christopher A. Marcolla of Cressona, probation officer I, juvenile court, effective May 16.
• Treasurer employment separations: Owen D. Brady of Jim Thorpe and Tatianna M. Zeleniak of Nesquehoning, part-time licensing clerks, effective May 2.
