Woman cited in Route 33 crash

State police at Stroudsburg reported investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred on April 29 at 7:25 p.m. along Route 33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Mary A. Egan, 52, of Slatedale, was driving a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek southbound when she suddenly swerved to the left into the median, traveled a short distance in the median, then swerved right crossing both southbound lanes. The vehicle then left the road on the west side and struck a ditch, rolled over an unknown amount of times, then struck a shrub as it was rolling. The vehicle rolled back onto its wheels and came to final rest on the west shoulder facing north.

Egan was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. The vehicle was towed from the scene. She was cited for the crash.

Troopers also investigated a three-vehicle crash at 6:02 p.m. on May 1 along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said a 2012 Infiniti G25 driven by Joseph L. Lees, 23, of Effort, rear-ended a 2013 Ford Escape, driven by Catherine D. Simpson, 53, of Stroudsburg, pushing it into the rear of a 2000 Honda CRV, driven by Kaeleigh M. Cunningham, 20, of Effort.

No one was injured.

Lees was cited for following too closely.
