The election is nearing and Carbon County is looking for a judge of elections for Palmerton.

On Thursday, Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein announced that the elections bureau is in need of a person who could take that role in one precinct on May 17.

“You don’t have to be a resident of Palmerton,” he said. “But we would prefer someone with experience so if you have worked in polls, maybe perhaps at another location, and you would like to try the judge of elections position, call the elections bureau.”

In other election matters, Nothstein said that 3,341 mail-in ballots have been mailed out by the bureau and 1,293 completed ballots have been returned.
