Supplee earns PSAC honors

Northwestern graduate Sarah Supplee was recently named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Supplee, a sophomore distance runner at West Chester, competed in the 3K Steeplechase at the 126th Penn Relays inside Historic Franklin Field at the University of Pennsylvania and registered an outstanding 19th-place finish in a school record time of 10:43.93.

Competing in a field laden with runners from Division I programs across the nation - as one of just three non-DI student-athletes competing in the event - Supplee shattered the previous program record of 10:47.35, which had been set by Rachel Hixson in 2002.

In addition to setting a new program record, this performance is an improvement upon her NCAA Provisional qualifying mark and currently stands as the fastest time in the PSAC this season. It was also the 15th fastest in all of Division 2 at the conclusion of the race.
