Thrift sale

Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a two-day spring/summer sale, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The sale features gently used spring and summer clothing items along with general household items, books and toys.

A limited takeout kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. (No checks.) Masks are optional.

Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.

Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet on May 11 at the West Penn Township Annex at 7 p.m. Poppy sale will be held on May 25 at the Hometown Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on April 28 with 25 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “My Daily Prayer.”

Melody Weicker was added to the sick list.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Recovery service

Abiding Grace Community Recovery Service is a Christian-based service that utilizes the 12-step Spirituality series.

Location: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 N. Greenwood St., Tamaqua. (Please use Mauch Chunk Street entrance at the bottom corner door.

Held second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. For more information call 570-668-2180.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua.

There will be no Sunday school until further notice. Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.
