St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road in Palmerton, will hold their second annual basket social on Saturday. This year is already exceeding last year’s donations of baskets and gift cards.

There are over $1,000 in gift cards for local restaurants and stores, tickets to concerts, the Reading Phillies, the Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the IronPigs, the Crayola Factory and many more. Win a gift card to get your hair done or a massage. Toys, flowers, holiday décor, home décor, adult beverage baskets and much more.

In addition to the many baskets, come for our homemade baked goods and food. We have happy bowls, beef and chicken barbecue, halushki, homemade pierogies and much more. Homemade soups have been added to the menu this year.

There is a separate entrance if you are only coming for lunch and baked goods.

A quilt was donated to St. John’s to be raffled. The quilt was made by Nancy Costenbader, Helen Ziegenfeus and Margaret Shinsec. Tickets can be purchased for $2 each or 4 tickets for $5 or 10 tickets for $10. The quilt will be raffled at 2:15.

The basket social will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets will be drawn at 2:15 p.m. You are welcome to stay for the drawing or watch Facebook to hear the winning numbers.
