Monroe County crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on two crashes investigated by troopers that occurred in Jackson Township, Monroe County.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:10 p.m. on April 29 along Bartonsville Woods Road. Troopers said Stephen M. Grimes, 34, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound when the vehicle left to road on the right side while negotiating a curve.

The vehicle hit a ditch before striking a PennDOT road sign and multiple rocks.

Grimes was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

He was cited for careless driving.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 6:27 p.m. on April 30 along Camp Akiba Road.

Troopers said a 16-year-old male from Effort was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Spyder and negotiating a left curve when the teen lost control.

The vehicle entered the right shoulder where it struck a utility pole. The vehicle continued on for about 100 feet before it came to rest in the right lane.

The teen was not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

The teen was cited for the crash.
