State police at Lehighton are investigating a motorcycle crash that occurred along Roue 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, in which the driver left the scene.

Troopers said at 11:37 p.m. on April 26 they were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle left on the side of the road, near Indian Trail Road. Troopers found a 2007 Honda Shadow but were unable to locate a driver. Damages were minor to the right side peg area of the bike, troopers said.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the bike was driven westbound when it struck a deer with the right side.

The bike then slid on its right side onto the shoulder where it came to rest.

The driver is believed to have left the scene. The investigation is continuing.
