– Panther Valley’s baseball team captures its fifth straight win by dropping Freeland, 9-5, in a Schuylkill II-North game. Randy Thear, Brian Kane and Steve Strauss all collect two hits for the Panthers, with one of Strauss’ hits being a bases-loaded triple that opens up a 4-2 game when the Panthers plate four runs in the fifth inning. Strauss goes the distance on the hill, whiffing seven Whippets and walking just one.
