Mauch Chunk Lake Park is gearing up for its 2022 summer season, which begins this month.
On Thursday, Commissioner Chris Lukasevich reported that director David Horvath said that things are “on track” at the park.
He pointed out that the county is in need of about four more lifeguards to man the beach, but overall, other staff positions are pretty filled.
“We’re doing really well actually in maintenance, you know, seasonal maintenance, but lifeguards are always a challenge,” he said.
Positions at the park, as well as other departments within the county are posted on the Carbon County website at www.carboncounty.com and click on employment opportunities on the left side of the page.
Mauch Chunk Lake Park positions that are available include park attendants, lifeguards and seasonal park rangers.
The swimming area is open to the public from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day; while camping goes into the fall.
Other activities that are available at the park include boating and fishing.
