Route 54 is closed in Hauto Estates, Nesquehoning after a driver lost control and drove through the front of a home Friday evening. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. as the driver was traveling east near the intersection with 11th Avenue. After losing control, his Jeep Liberty crossed the roadway entering the lawn then crashing through the front wall of the residence. The entire vehicle was inside the dwelling when responders arrived. Nesquehoning and Rush Township emergency crews responded to the scene and detoured traffic down Industrial Road and Park Avenue. Nesquehoning police are investigating the incident.
