The Pleasant Valley and Weatherly softball teams both posted victories on Thursday.

SOFTBALL

PM West-Pleasant Valley

Lydia Borger delivered an RBI single up the middle to help Pleasant Valley walk-off with a 3-2 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pocono Mountain West.

Borger led the Bears (3-6) with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, which included two singles, a double, a run scored and two RBIs. The freshman center fielder also added a stolen base on the day.

Hailey Krock, who scored the game-winning run, also recorded a single, double and a run scored.

Kailynn Getz was strong in the circle for PV, scattering seven hits and one walk while striking out eight.

Madisyn vonFrisch led Weatherly in the circle and at the plate in a 13-0 non-league victory over Executive Education Academy Charter School.

vonFrisch tossed five shutout innings for the Wreckers (3-3), allowing just two hits and striking out 11 Lions (3-4) while yielding just two walks.

At the plate, vonFrisch had three singles, two runs scored and an RBI.

Evelyn Ford (two singles, two runs scored, two RBIs) and Juliette Bartel (single, three runs scored, two RBIs) also had big days in the win.

Weatherly-Pine Grove

Pine Grove cruised to an 18-0 victory over Weatherly in three innings.

Pitchers Garrett Brandt and Hunter McConnell combined to stifle the Wrecker bats, allowing no hits. The Cardinal duo struck out six and walked one.

Lane Lehman was 3-for-3, and finished a home run short of the cycle while also scoring three times. Ethan Hannevig added a single, double, three runs scored and three RBIs for Pine Grove (9-2).

Wyatt Higgins drew a walk in the second inning for the Wreckers (1-7).

Tamaqua-Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain posted a 4-1 Schuylkill League win against Tamaqua.

Kory Faust paced the Eagles (5-5, 3-2) with two runs scored, a single and a walk.

Gianni Valentine had a double and an RBI to score Tim Fritzinger for the Blue Raiders (1-6, 1-4), while leadoff hitter Lucas Kamant finished with two singles.

Wilson-Palmerton

Wilson edged Palmerton for a 3-2 Colonial League win.

Justin Sebelin earned a win at No. 1 singles for the Blue Bombers (2-9), while Logan Connelly and Ethan Jones posted a victory playing together at No. 1 doubles.

Wilson improved to 4-6 with the win.
