Orders due

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will be having a turkey dinner, takeout only, on May 7. Dinner includes turkey with filling and gravy, green beans, applesauce, roll and choice of molasses or apple cake. Orders are due by Sunday. Call Serfass at 570-688-5381.

Orders for celery seed dressing are also being taken.

Bingo night

The Main Hall at the American Legion in Gilbert is the site for Monday Night Bingo open to the public beginning at 6:30 p.m. to purchase cards.

At 7 p.m. the calling begins.

Knit & crochet

The needle plyers of Zion Lutheran are meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Newcomers are welcome to help and/or to learn. Supplies are available.

SAL meeting

The monthly meeting of the Sons of the American Legion is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday. Prospective members are welcome. Call Nelson at 973-459-8378.

Spring event set

Middlecreek Christian Church will be holding its spring rummage sale and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29, and from 9 a.m. to noon April 30, with the bag sale on Saturday. The church is at 343 Dorshimer Road, Kresgeville.

Postponed dinner

Effort UMC shares, with much regret, that the April 30 chicken barbecue dinner has had to be postponed.

Impacting the planned dinner and causing the cancellation are factors impacted by the avian flu.

Cornerstone church

On April 30, Cornerstone Community Church will host a Lifeway Women simulcast. Doors open at 8 a.m. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and goes to 4:15 p.m.

There is a cost, which includes lunch.

It is open to women ages seventh grade and older.

Tickets may be purchased online through Eventbrite by clicking the Simulcast ad on the church’s website at www.cornestonecommunity.org.

Roast beef dinner

St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, is hosting a drive-thru service roast beef dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. April 30.

The meal includes roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, coleslaw, roll/butter and dessert.

Reservations are highly recommended.

Block shoot

Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding its next block shoot and meat raffle beginning at 11 a.m. May 1, at the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club on Gun Club Lane, Saylorsburg.

It will be 12-gauge shotgun only. The public is welcome.

The next regularly scheduled meeting for the West End Republicans is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cherry’s Family Restaurant in Kresgeville.

Those planning to eat dinner there are asked to come at 6 p.m.

Mission auction

Effort UMC has announced its mission auction is set for May 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. Viewing time is from 5 to 6 p.m. the same day.
