Track & Field Roundup: Results from April 19

The Palmerton boys and girls earned a sweep in a Colonial League tri-meet on Tuesday.

In other action, Northwestern’s teams both posted a split, while the Northern Lehigh girls also went 1-1.

Palmerton-Wilson-No. Lehigh

Both Palmerton teams swept Northern Lehigh and Wilson in Colonial League action.

Emma Martinez recorded three individual firsts in the 800, 1600 and 3200 to help the Blue Bomber girls post wins of 118-29 over the Bulldogs, and 89-60 over the Warriors.

Nataly Walters also took the long jump and triple jump for Palmerton (4-2).

In the boys meet, Owen Hibell (1600, 3200) and Bryson Walters (110H, 300H) each earned a pair of wins to help defeat Northern Lehigh, 93-57, and Wilson, 84-60. The victories upped the Bombers record to 5-1.

The Bulldog girls (2-4) received firsts from Mikayla Gordon (400), Caitlin Kirk (discus), Zoe Hathaway (high jump), and Emily Moyer (pole vault) to top Wilson 84-57 and earn a split.

Northwestern-Saucon Vy. -Southern Lehigh

Southern Lehigh remained undefeated in the Colonial League by sweeping Northwestern and Saucon Valley.

The Tiger girls fell to the Spartans, 96-54, but downed the Panthers, 115 1/2-34 1/2, to earn a split. The Northwestern boys dropped a 95-55 decision to Solehi, but cruised to a 117-32 win against Saucon to go 1-1 in the meet.

Faith Yost won three events in the girls meet, taking the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and high jump to help Northwestern improve to 5-1. Sadie Fenstermaker (shot put, discus) added a pair of individual firsts.

The Tiger boys (5-1) received wins from Colin Myers (discus), Cayden Kuhns (pole vault) and the 1600 and 3200 relay teams.

Pleasant Valley was swept by Northampton in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.

The Konkrete Kids won by a 98-52 score in the girls meet, and by a 111 1/2-38 1/2 margin in the boys competition.

PV’s Reese Ruggiero had a successful day, gaining three firsts. Ruggiero captured the long jump, triple jump and pole vault.

De’Nair Drew added a pair of wins by taking both hurdling events.

In the boys meet, Tyler Akob (400), and Raymond Lursen (1600) both had wins for the Bears.
