Candidates to participate in Q&A forum

Schuylkill County FreePA and the Pennsylvania Liberty Alliance proudly announce that all three balloted candidates for state representative in the 124th District will be participating in a question-and-answer forum at the New Ringgold Fire Company on April 27.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for light refreshments, and the event will begin at 7 p.m. sharp. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is only open to registered Republican voters of the 124th District, which encompasses the following municipalities: in Berks County, the townships of Albany, Greenwich, Maxatawny, Tilden, Upper Bern, Upper Tulpehocken and Windsor and the boroughs of Hamburg, Kutztown and Lenhartsville; and in Schuylkill County - the townships of Delano, East Brunswick, Rush, Ryan, Schuylkill, South Manheim, Walker, West Brunswick and West Penn and the boroughs of Auburn, Coaldale, Deer Lake, Landingville, New Ringgold, Orwigsburg, Port Clinton and Tamaqua.

All three balloted candidates have agreed to participate, which include energy company executive Jamie Barton, minister Elle Rulavage, and Realtor Jill Saunders.

Two moderators will take turns asking the candidates substantive questions on fiscal, social, and reform-related matters. The audience will also have the opportunity to submit questions through the moderators.

The seat is open due to the retirement of incumbent Jerry Knowles, who is leaving office at the end of his seventh full term in office.
