Jacob S. Paperman, Weissport, today resigned as chief clerk to the Carbon County Commissioners to accept a position with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

Peter Mikulecky, Lansford, who was assistant clerk since the appointment of Paperman in January 1964, was named to be his successor. Mikulecky will receive the same salary, $6,500 a year.

The new chief clerk is a 1927 graduate of Lansford High School who previously worked for the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company and the state auditor general’s office as an auditor of school district budgets.
