2022 Easter egg hunts

Saturday

• The second annual Easter egg hunt hosted by the Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club is Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Olympian Stadium. Family admission includes age-specific egg hunts on the turf field, free family photo with the Easter Bunny, and bounce house (with signed waiver). We’ll also have a bake sale and raffle prizes. All proceeds go to the Jim Thorpe High School Football program which includes grades 7 through 12.

• An Easter egg hunt will be held at the Palmerton Memorial Park Grove, 1255 N. Third St., on Saturday at 11 a.m. For ages 0-10.

• St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Drive W., Easter egg hunt, 11 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine.

• American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, is holding an open to community Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday with the Easter Bunny expected to be in attendance.

• Pleasant Valley Assembly of God church is hosting its Easter Eggstravaganza for church and community at noon Saturday.

• An Easter egg hunt will also be held in the Palmerton Borough Park on Saturday at 1 p.m. For ages 1-12.

• Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church will hold an Easter Egg Launch in Lehighton’s Upper Park at 1 p.m. Saturday.

• The Diligent Fire Company No. 3 of Jim Thorpe will hold their 2022 Easter egg hunt on Saturday. The 75th annual event will be replaced by a drive-thru egg distribution. The Easter Bunny will be there to greet the children, however for the safety of all please do not get out of your vehicles. Distribution of the eggs will be as long as the supply lasts. The event is open for children up to the age of 10 and will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the company headquarters at 330 Centre Ave. Please enter the company parking lot from School Alley behind the company.

• Cornerstone Church will hold an Easter egg hunt Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. It is free and will include prize eggs, spring family photo, story walk, popcorn and cotton candy.

Sunday

• McMichaels UMC will hold its Easter egg hunt for the children of the community on Palm Sunday, following worship service which is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to worship with the church family and stay for some fun with the children after the service.

• Zion Lutheran is hosting a free community Easter egg hunt Sunday beginning at 12:30 p.m. It is open to all children up to fifth grade. There will be games, food, an egg hunt and the Easter Bunny will be available for photos.

• The West Penn community Easter egg hunt will be held at the Andreas Sporting Club ground at 1 p.m. Sunday. The rain date is 1 p.m. April 16. All children 12 and under are welcome.

• The annual Easter egg hunt at the Packerton Old Timer’s Club, 102 Pine St., Lehighton, will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public. Kids ages 1 through 12 can participate in the Easter egg hunt. Tricky trays and raffles will also take place. Food and drink will be available.

April 16

• Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is asking for donations of plastic eggs and individually wrapped candy. The egg hunt is scheduled for April 16 and will take place after the blessing of the Easter baskets at 1 p.m.

• The West End Park and Open Space Commission has set its Easter egg hunt for 1 p.m. April 16 at Ross Township Park.

• St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, will be holding its annual Easter egg hunt in the church grove at 3 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Eldred Township Community Center.

• Bowmanstown Lions Club will be holding their annual Easter egg hunt on April 16 at 4 p.m. This event will be held at the Bowmanstown Baseball Field located off of Green Street in Meadowcrest.
