The Lehighton Band’s spring concert is being relocated, but summer concerts in the Upper Park Amphitheater will still be held.

Councilwoman Autumn Abelovsky noted at Monday’s borough council meeting that the location of the Spring Concert has changed.

Abelovsky said the event, which historically was held in the Pfc. Clyde R. Houser Jr. Building/Borough Annex, is being relocated.

The Lehighton Band’s Spring Concert will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, Third and Mahoning streets.

Abelovsky said after the meeting the change in location is due to the limited audience space since the school has taken over one-quarter of the auditorium space for its cafeteria, as well as storage in the auditorium and on the stage.

Abelovsky said the borough will have a full calendar of Music in the Park this spring and summer when it combines the Parks & Recreation Board and Lehighton Band concerts together.

She said she will publish a schedule soon, and thanked Mayor Clark Ritter for booking the bands.
