A home was destroyed by fire Wednesday night in the 300 block of Rustic Lane, off Lower Cherry Valley Road in Hamilton Township. The fully involved house fire was called in at 6:14 p.m. Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder and West End Fire Company responded, along with Wind Gap Fire Company. Crews from East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg were called to an apartment fire early Thursday morning along the 100 block of South Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg. The initial call was for smoke showing from the third floor. There was active fire in the building which houses the Treasures and Treats thrift shop on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors. All residents were evacuated and no one was injured. The displaced are being assisted by the American Red Cross. Stroudsburg Fire assisted East Stroudsburg on scene, along with Stroud Township Fire Company, Shawnee Fire Company, Suburban EMS, Stroud Area Regional Police, and the Salvation Army.
