A Carbon County man was jailed on Tuesday on an assault charge stemming from a domestic incident.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to the 800 block of Towamensing Road, in Towamensing Township, at 9:50 a.m. for a report of a domestic dispute.

Troopers said a 57-year-old woman from Lehighton had minor injuries to her head and face.

As a result Greg Steinmetz, 37, of Lehighton, was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment - physical contact. He was arraigned before District Judge William Kissner, of Palmerton, and remanded to the county prison unable to post $2,500 cash bail.
