Tamaqua man causes disturbance, jumps out window hours later

A Tamaqua man who had been warned by police for causing a disturbance at his apartment building jumped from a third-story window there a few hours later, police said.

According to police, officers were called to the 400 block of Hazle Street at 10:54 p.m. March 10 for a report of a resident yelling and screaming. Police attempted to speak to the man, Edward J. Dalvet III, 41, but he would not open the door. Dalvet appeared to be under the influence and highly agitated. Officers told him to keep the noise down.

Just before 2 a.m. March 11, police were dispatched to the residence again and found Dalvet lying on the ground. Police said he was still highly agitated and yelled at them. He was taken into custody and transported to the police station for a medical examination.

When emergency responders arrived, Dalvet said he was okay and refused treatment. He was cited for disorderly conduct for making unreasonable noise and for being under the influence of a controlled substance while in public.
