State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• On March 20 at 8:11 p.m. troopers responded to Long Run Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for a report of a physical domestic incident. An investigation revealed that an argument turned physical when Zachary Hoffman, 31, of Lehighton, punched a 51-year-old man from Lehighton, in the face multiple times with a closed fist and pushed a 49-year-old woman from Lehighton.

Charges of simple assault and related offenses were filed against Hoffman.

• On March 21 at 1:26 a.m. a 2004 Dodge Neon was stopped at East Lizard Creek Road at Cedar Street in Bowmanstown, for a traffic violation. The driver, a 51-year-old man from Bowmanstown, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges to be filed.

• On March 19 at 1:06 a.m. a 2006 Mazda 3 was stopped along Hemlock Street in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. It was determined the driver, a 20-year-old man from Palmerton, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of DUI of a controlled substance. He was also found in possession of suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. He refused a test. Charges will be filed.

• On March 17 at 2:45 a.m. troopers stopped a 2008 Ford F-150 truck at Main and Centre streets in Parryville, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Palmerton, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of DUI of a controlled substance. He refused a test. Police said charges will be filed.

• On March 20 at 2:04 a.m. troopers stopped a 2011 Nissan Altima at Snyders and Forest Inn roads in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, for a traffic violation. The driver, a 18-year-old man from Palmerton, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of DUI of a controlled substance. Charges to be filed.

• On March 20 at 9:52 p.m. troopers responded to Franklin Heights Road in Franklin Township, for a fight between two people. The two men, ages 58 and 50, of Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, were charged with harassment - physical contact.

• On March 2 at 10:11 p.m. troopers responded to Short Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a two-vehicle crash. An investigation revealed that one of the drivers, a 22-year-old man from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was in possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Charges will be filed.
