Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:55 a.m. on March 6 along Route 901 (Gordon Nagle Trail) in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Susan M. Whitesell, 50, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country van northbound when a large rock entered the roadway in front of her. She could not avoid the rock and struck it with the van’s undercarriage.

No one was injured but the vehicle had to be towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 9:52 a.m. on March 3 at the intersection of Route 61 and South Liberty Street in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Sandra Baver, 80, of Orwigsburg, driving a 2008 Buick Lacrosse, was turning left from Liberty Street onto Route 61 north and failed to yield to oncoming traffic with her vehicle being struck by a 2019 Dodge Caravan driven by Brittani A. East, 29, of Schuylkill Haven.

East was injured and taken to Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg. Three passengers were with East. No other injuries were reported. The Dodge had to be towed.

Baver was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:40 p.m. on March 7 along Route 895 in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Jeremy C. Reinert, 29, of Auburn, was driving a 2007 Subaru Outback eastbound when the vehicle left the road on the south side and struck a ditch.

After impact it continued east and then struck a tree.

Reinert and his passenger, a 3-year-old girl in a child safety seat, were not injured.

Reinert was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
