The Rev. Robert K. Gildersleeve, 42, a native of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, was installed as the pastor of St. Mark’s-St. John’s Episcopal Church, Jim Thorpe, during a joint celebration held by parish members yesterday.

In addition to the pastor’s installation, a new altar was dedicated by the Right Rev. J.M. Mark Dyer, Bishop of the Diocese of Bethlehem.

Prior to coming to the Race Street church, the Rev. Gildersleeve served mission congregations in Port Allegany and Eldred, as well as in McKean County.

He was presented for installation by church wardens Charles M. McGee and Kenneth L. Bruner while readers included Thomas Lager and William and Marlene Deihm.
