State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at Bethlehem reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 1:54 p.m. on March 1 along Old Post Road (Route 873) in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. Troopers said Tristian Arroyo Pinero, 22, of Nesquehoning, was driving a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer northbound and negotiating a left curve. She couldn’t make the turn with her vehicle going onto the berm and striking a utility pole.

Arroyo Pinero was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. The vehicle was towed.

She was cited for careless driving.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:56 p.m. on March 9 along Airport Road in East Allen Township, Northampton County. Troopers said Derek M. Long, 35, of Slatington, driving a 2014 Jeep Compass, was stopped in the right lane for a red traffic light while southbound. Christopher Miller, 33, of Bethlehem, driving a 2018 Toyota Camry, was southbound and failed to stop with his vehicle striking the rear of Long’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported. The Camry had to be towed.

Miller was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• On March 6 at 11:22 a.m. a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Schoenersville Road and Airport Road in Hanover Township, Lehigh County. Troopers said Dion W. Guertchev, 19, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Elantra westbound on Schoenersville Road while John R. Repsher, 50, of Northampton, driving a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer, was eastbound. Guertchev made a left turn without proper clearance and struck Repsher’s vehicle.

No one was injured. The Mercury was towed.

Guertchev was cited for vehicle turning left.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 9:30 a.m. on March 2 along Main Street in Washington Township, Lehigh County. Troopers identified the drivers involved as Erriana M. Snyder, 20, of Slate­dale, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, and Blaine A. Hoppes, 48, of Slatington, driving a 2017 Dodge Ram truck. No other details of the crash were released. Troopers indicated that Snyder was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 2:41 a.m. on March 7 along Route 309 in Lynn Township, Lehigh County. Troopers said Ava Josephine Mucha, 23, of Cumbola, Schuylkill County, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra northbound when she lost control. The vehicle went onto the right shoulder and struck a tree.

Mucha was not injured but showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. The vehicle was towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 4:09 p.m. on March 7 along Oakwood Lane, Washington Township, Lehigh County. Troopers said Joseph S. Eshelman, 34, of Lehighton, was driving a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse southbound and came to the intersection with Park Avenue. He didn’t stop at the posted sign and entered the intersection, striking a 2007 Nissan Frontier driven by Edward J. Szerencsits, 63, of Coplay.

No one was injured.

Both vehicles had to be towed. Eshelman was cited for a stop sign violation.
