Pleasant Valley School District announced some promotions at the board meeting last week.

Jamie Rockwell was promoted to dean of students at the high school. She was an educational consultant in special education at the high school.

Security Officer Gianpaolo Sarnelli at the high school was promoted to security sergeant. She replaced Michael Menzoff.

The school district also signed contracts with two state-certified school psychologists, who will work as independent contractors. They are: Janine Wargo of Nazareth and Susie Sepulveda of Tobyhanna.

Wargo will receive $125 per hour. Sepulveda is a bilingual school psychologist and will handle cases where the student speaks Spanish. She will be paid $1,300 per case.

Other changes in personnel from the Feb. 24 and March 10 school board meetings include:

• Hiring of long-term substitute: Amber Brown, second-grade teacher, from Jan. 26 to March 23.

• Professional staff substitutes: Nicole Cohen, Ashley Dillon, Tristan Dorn, Jessica Maksoud, Dylan Ryzner and Savanah Stevens.

• Intramural advisers: Kathleen Gesiskie, volleyball, PVHS and PVMS.

• Resignations: Debra Hvasta, monitor, PVHS; Samantha Hardy, monitor, PVES, and long-term substitute secretary, Polk; Michelle Kuehner, substitute paraprofessional associate; Kristen McCree, paraprofessional associate, PVHS; Dana West, event manager; David Probert, substitute custodian; Brian Mucklin, security, districtwide; and Theresa Pennington, substitute custodian.

• Retirements: Barbara Kuntzman, custodian, PVMS, effective June 3; Curtis Frantz, custodian, PVIS, effective Aug. 5; Karina Martin and Sandra Seda, both paraprofessional associates at PVES.

• Supplemental contracts: athletic - Kassidy McKeever and Matt Gould, junior high assistants for track and field, $3,400; and Austin Warman, varsity assistant, track and field, $4,550.

• Supplemental contracts: athletic noncoaching - Patrick Luchowski, $40 per event as varsity announcer and scoreboard operator for baseball, and $30 per event as junior varsity scoreboard operator and score book/scorekeeper for baseball.

• Supplemental contracts: nonathletic - Vanessa Fego, class adviser - Freshman, PVHS, $750 (half stipend); Elaine Cucci, Student Government, PVHS, $812.50 (half stipend).
