Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on March 8 with 46 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “A Wish For You.” A moment of silence was observed for Dorothy Fegley and Anthony Zahora.

Nancy Nunemacher was added to the sick list and Bill Morrison was given a warm welcome back by the group. January, February and March birthday were celebrated. Nomination of officers will be held in April and election will be in May, with installation of officers in June.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Christ U.C.C., Barnesville, at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

St. Peter’s

March 13: 9 a.m. worship service; joyous noise offering; congregational meeting; 10:15 a.m. Sunday school; no Confirmation Class; 6 p.m. Girl Scouts. March 14: 7 p.m. play practice. March 15: 5:30 p.m. Prayer Group at Scenic View; 7 p.m. WASP. March 16: 7 p.m. Midweek Lenten Service at Zion’s Stone Church. March 17: 6 p.m. Cherub Choir rehearsal; 7:30 p.m. Senior Choir rehearsal. March 20: 9 a.m. worship service; 10:15 a.m. Sunday school; 4 p.m. Confirmation Class; 6 p.m. Girl Scouts.

Lewistown Valley Garden Club

The first meeting for the Lewistown Valley Garden Club for 2022 will be held March 22 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. The program will be presented by Judy Kellner showing basics of arranging flowers, etc. The arrangement to be judged from entries by members will be “Ugly Duckling,” choice of any flower and using a duck as an accessory. Specimen to be judged will be any forced branch. All are encouraged to participate.

New members are always welcome. Members meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m. For more information, call Louise at 570-467-3400.

Soup fundraiser

The Shepherds of St John’s will be having a soup and bake sale March 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served. St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Mauch Chunk St., Tamaqua. Any questions, please call Linda at 570-640-5261 or Gloria at 570-778-3215.

New Life Assembly

New Life Assembly is excited to announce that they will be installing their new lead pastor, the Rev. Robert Tomes, on March 20 at the 10 a.m. service. Everyone is invited to attend.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on March 3 with 28 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “Keep On Praying.” A moment of silence was observed for Anthony Zahora.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Calvary Lewistown

The Rev. Keith McCarthy will be the guest speaker this Sunday at the 10:25 a.m. worship service at Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Evening worship at 6:30 p.m. will feature Mr. Terry D. Gerber as the guest speaker.

March 16 Lenten service will be at Calvary Evangelical with 7:15 p.m. hymn sing and service at 7:30 p.m.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua. There will be no Sunday school until further notice. Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.
