County OKs agreement with union

Carbon County has approved a one-year agreement with one of its employee unions.

On Thursday, the commissioners agreed on a contract with the Carbon County Sheriff’s Association for the union employees through Dec. 31. The previous contract expired Dec. 31 and was extended into 2022.

The new collective bargaining agreement calls for a 2.5% wage increase and a 37.5-hour workweek.

Health care contribution and prescription copays remain the same as the previous contract.

The agreement covers one lieutenant, two sergeants and 11 deputy sheriffs.

The union was formed in 2016.
