Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners acted on the following items during their meeting on Thursday.
• Approved the agreement with Stenograph LLC of Downers Grove, Illinois, to purchase three Luminex II Stenograph writers with tripod for each courtroom. The cost for all three is $18,186 and a trade-in reimbursement of $1,250 after payment.
• Approved a project activity completion extension requests to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development requesting extensions of completion dates for the Weissport, Franklin Township and Lehighton project from April 16 to Oct. 17.
• Authorize the request for proposal for the lease of the camp store, located at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. The proposals are due to the chief clerk by 3:30 p.m. on March 21.
• Ratified a proposal with A.L.M. Abatement Services LLC for the remediation of mold in the prothonotary’s office at a cost of $2,300 plus $750 for a third party to do the final visual inspection and air clearance tests.

• Changes of status: James S. Romankow of Lansford, from corrections officer to sergeant, effective Feb. 5; Beckylee A. Kandy of Albrightsville, from corrections officer to sergeant of Feb. 7; O’Neil O. Chambers of Albrightsville, from acting sergeant to corrections officer, effective Feb. 8; and Nathaniel M. Hrebik of Tamaqua, from deputy sheriff to sergeant at corrections, and Nicole A. Horn of Slatington, from probation officer II, adult probation, to sergeant at corrections, both effective March 7.
• Hire as recommended by department supervisor: Sherri A. Kostak of Jim Thorpe, parking/meter technician, effective Feb. 22.
