The northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Kline Township were closed Saturday afternoon after several multi-vehicle crashes at 1:07 p.m. after a snow squall moved through, with zero visibility.

State police at Frackville said the first crash at the 139.2 mile marker included 3 commercial vehicles and 10 passenger cars. Four people were injured.

Four additional crashes were reported, with one person injured. The roadway was closed at the McAdoo exit.

State police continue to investigate.
