Franklin Township’s roadmaster has stepped down from his position.

Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously accepted the resignation of roadmaster/road foreman Robin Cressley.

Afterward, the board appointed Kim Hunsicker as interim roadmaster/road foreman, retroactive from Jan. 24.

Cressley was reappointed to the positions on a 2-1 vote at last month’s reorganization meeting, with Supervisor Jason Frey opposed.

After Tuesday’s meeting, Cressley said it was his decision to resign, and that he did so voluntarily.

Cressley had served in the positions since February 2008.

In other road department matters, the board on Tuesday:

• Advertised for two full-time road crew positions, retroactive to Jan. 21.

• Agreed to hire two full-time road crew employees.

• Approved the purchase of four cellphones and monthly plans for three supervisors and the roadmaster/road foreman.
