A Lehighton woman has a new job as a part-time corrections officer in Schuylkill County.

The county Salary Board on Wednesday approved the employment of Latasha Roach as a part-time corrections officer at $22.40 an hour, starting Friday.

Along with Roach, Courtney Moyer of Schuylkill Haven and Hunter Hutnick of Mahanoy City will also start their part-time corrections officer jobs, at the same wage, on Friday.

The board also informed county commissioners of resignations and transfers.

Billie Jo Bender resigned from her full-time corrections officer job as of Feb. 8; Hannah Capella and Tira Stravinsky will resign from their caseworker 2 positions with the Children & Youth Agency; Capella on Feb. 18 and Stravinsky on Feb. 25.
