Pocono Mountain Regional Police
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following cases:
• On Jan. 30 at 9:20 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop for multiple moving violations. Police determined the driver, Jermaine Whitfield, 20, of Tobyhanna, was intoxicated. Whitfield was taken into custody and transported to the DUI processing center. A search warrant was issued for the vehicle and a stolen gun was found in the car.
As a result Whitfield was charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm with altered serial number, receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license; and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and summary motor vehicle code violations.
• Two men are facing felony charges stemming from the theft of equipment.
Police said on Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. Pocono officers responded to the intersection of Birch Road and Pine Tree Drive at the request of state police at Honesdale. Troopers had two men detained with a stolen vehicle.
An investigation by troopers and Pocono police revealed that Ralph Kreiger, 38, of Brooklyn, New York, and Frank Delillo, 36, of East Stroudsburg, had stolen a Bobcat Tracker loader from 519 Big Oak Road in Canadensis.
The two were taken into custody and transported to Pocono Mountain Regional police headquarters. Investigation revealed that the Bobcat loader was originally stolen from Wayne County but recovered in Barrett Township earlier in the day by Pocono police.
Kreiger and Delillo were charged with felony counts of theft of movable property, conspiracy to commit theft of movable property, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to receive stolen property. The two were arraigned before a district judge and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
