The Jim Thorpe and Panther Valley girls basketball teams combined for a fundraising event to raise money for former coach Brian Carroll. Carroll, who is battling pancreatic cancer, coached basketball teams at both schools and taught fourth grade for many years in the Jim Thorpe Area School District. Students raised $2,585 through various fundraisers, including a T-shirt sale, purple ribbons, a halftime shootout at the game, a food stand treat sale and donations.
